D-Day Comes Early

I promised an exciting announcement in that last blog post of mine, the one I wrote last night that went up this morning on my Not A Blog.  Big news coming on April 8, I said, and no, it was not going to be the delivery of THE WINDS OF WINTER, don’t go there, had nothing to do with that.  But it was going to be something very cool, something astonishing.

That part was right.  Only the date was wrong.  Colossal Biosciences, out of Dallas, had it all lined up so the story would break on April 8, ...

Ri On the one hand, that’s amazing; on the other, Michael Crichton warned us about this… Having said that, now I want a dodo named Pickwick (iykyk).

Scott An extinct species was revived before we got Winds of Winter. Where do you even go from here with metaphors for procrastination?

Fran Rodriguez-Algarra Unfortunately, those are not direwolves. No matter what the marketing tries to sell us, that just slightly gene edited grey wolves (around 20 changes across their entire genome). Impressive science, but nowhere close to the buzz this has generated, I'm afraid.
